Wow - fresh off my illumio this morning I see a news feed from espn.com that Trent Green, heralded QB from the Kansas City Chiefs, may be going to Miami. In this article, supposedly KC deemed Green "expendable". Now last season Green did get hurt, and Damon Huard came in to have a nice relief season. But is this guy a starter? Of course, a lot of people wondered if Green was a starter when he came from St. Louis (in the days when Kurt Warner would consistently toss for 300+ yards a game). On tilt from a few weeks of mediocre play, this weekend saw much improvement in the area of poker. Perhaps it was the planets aligning, perhaps it was the moderation of adult beverages - I'm not entirely sure. But Thursday night's game of Texas hold 'em was completely mine. Sure, I experienced a few bad beats, but at the end of the night, I collected first place. Now mind you that this crowd, aside from Johnny and Lorie, are not too experienced in poker (but moreso than I am). Not to mention that just last week, saw my 12 year old son take 1st place. But a win (and $70) is nothing to write-off.
